Minimalism!

I don't know why, probably I'm not the only one, now for some reason the things that Rich Roll is interested in, are like exactly the ones I'm looking for as well. With all the research he does around it, the great podcasts he produces, it makes my life so much easier to get in contact with all those great aspects of life. This is, how I also came in contact with Minimalism.

Which, when I did some research around it, found a lot of resources about. The activity around it, shows that it is an interesting subject, that I can apply till a level that I find appropriate for myself. I've to admit I found some of them at a quiet extreme level. Especially when going into sound, movement... minimalism and such.

Basically for me, the Minimalism has been pretty inspired by "The Minimalists".

I started by getting rid of all my stuff, clothes… that I don't use or wear very often, and provide them to a charity where people can have better use of them.

This act of donation to people that need it so much more than I do, creates a first positive feeling of minimalism.

A second one, is that it makes me also very light, making me setting less attention to possession, there that I used to be very anxious about them before.

And the third one, probably a great result of the two others, is that I have definitely way less fear of having to maybe lose those possessions one day. I realize what they really are and find it crazy that I’ve been feeling, like I fell for it before..

It is also having me consciously act by all new purchases that I make and wonder whether I really need it. For the last 3 years I've hardly bought anything new with that in mind. Quite often I found out that it was a very big false impulse of need.

How is this related to raw vegan food?

Well, it is after eating raw vegan food that I opened my eyes for minimalism and started to apply it. When I applied it, I quickly realized that I had way more budget over during the month, then when I was spending all that on everything and nothing. This budget allows me to buy without regret, organic whole food quality fruits and vegetables, which I personally found one of the best investments in the long term.

Minimalism, feel light, free and full of energy!

The part for the environment with raw food vegan

I have grown up with already a mindset for a better environment.
We tried to reduce waste, buy eco friendly cars, try to get solar energy, try to reduce water usage...
Honestly, I had the feeling, I was doing great and at the maximum of what I can do!

In the meantime I learned that I can always improve and that, what I was doing so far, was so ridiculously low.

I understood that one of the most effective things an individual can do to lower their carbon footprint, is to avoid all animal products. The production of meat and other animal products places a heavy burden on the environment.

The good news is there IS something we can do about it and which is achievable for everybody that want to do so including me!

Every time I shop or order food in a restaurant - every time I eat - I can choose to help these animals. Every time I make the switch from an animal product to a vegan one I’m standing up for farmed animals everywhere.

Going vegan is easier than ever before with veganism becoming increasingly mainstream as more and more people from all walks of life discover the benefits of living this way.

It's time to ask myself: if it is now possible to live a life that involves delicious food and drink, delivers better health, leaves a smaller carbon footprint and avoids killing other creatures - then why don't I do that?
