The satisfied feeling of food!

As a kid, I learned how to feel satisfied after eating. As well as with some food being careful for overeating, since too much of that stuff is not really healthy and good for my body. If I felt full, if I could hardly move and want to sleep after eating, it meant I ate very well!

After 35 years of my life, I believed that was the only truth for me and the way it was supposed to be.

When I changed my eating behavior, I quickly realized what all those feelings really were, that I was feeling before.

The full feeling mainly came from the stuff I put into my body, that it has a very hard time digesting.
The more difficult it is to digest, the fuller I felt, and the less difficult it is to digest, the lighter I felt. That was a big change and took some time to accept.

This digesting then takes the majority of my living energy, resulting in me just wanting ideally to sleep after every meal. After which I would be using some kind of falls energy supplier in order to keep up.

Today with the changed eating lifestyle, eating whole food fruits or vegetables I have a complete opposite experience with eating. I don't feel full (takes some time to accept…), I've plenty of energy after the meal and I feel naturally on my own how much I should eat of it. It also results in me sleeping when I have to sleep and not after every meal. I found it a magical discovery and so natural..

Isn't nature beautiful?

Inspiration of life in each one of us!

The world is full of wonderful people, including you!

I since early days, started by looking up to inspirational quotes from very famous people in the world, to get inspired myself;

Leonardo Da Vinci; “I have from an early age abjured the use of meat, and the time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men.

Albert Einstein; “Nothing will benefit health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.

The Dalai Lama; (when asked what surprised him most about humanity), answered; “Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.

Buddha; “All beings tremble before violence. All fear death, all love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do?

Ralph Waldo Emerson; “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.

Mahatma Gandhi; “Be the change that you want to see in the world.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr; “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; Only love can do that.“

It brought me to more recent famous people,

Barack Obama; “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

Johnny Depp; “If you don't like seeing pictures of violence towards animals being posted, you need to help stop the violence, not the pictures.

It brought me to much more worldwide engaged people that inspired me with their books, like; Eckhart Tolle, Dr Wayne W. Dyer, Paulo Coelho, Hal Elrod, T. Colin Campbell & Thomas M. Campbell, Rich Roll, Ruediger Dahlke, Aymeric Caron, Nassrine Reza...which are just a few of them.

It made me realize in Belgium I've quite a lot that have inspired me as well; Tobias Leenaert, Kris Verburgh, Esther Perel, Goedele Leyssen, Pascale Naessens, Thierry Janssen, Antoine Filissiadis

Really coming to the root of myself where I see friends, family, kids and even my wife with her ‘L'envol du Colibri‘ project, inspiring me over and over again!

Keep being yourself and continue doing positive things lovely people in this world, let us inspire each other, from my point of view you have it all in you, thank you!

Namaste!

Getting out the vicious circle of emotional eating!

A big part of my eating, is not because of hunger, it’s purely emotional. Meant to get some kind of comfort or compensation for something that has in the majority of cases nothing to do with hunger.

It even surprised me till which level people apply that; out of Rich Roll’s Podcast #288 with JD Roth was an excellent example of that, JD Roth says; "My mom has stage 4 pancréatic state cancer, so I said, mom now is the time to go plant based, I'm begging you, I'll help you with it.” On which the mom replied; “If ever there is a time to eat a donut, now is it".
Really showing that as a human quite often we praise the comforting side of food, instead of the healing and providing positive energy side in those difficult circumstances.

What I found out, is that with the more traditional cultural food I used to eat, I didn’t even know I was eating emotionally, and it made me quite often feel bad, fat and wanting more of it. Nice vicious circle, isn't it!

With food that makes me overall feel good based on whole food, fruits and vegetables, what is nice, is that I can eat as much as I want, don't feel bad afterwards and don’t gain any weight. On top of that, since the emotionally overeating I'm doing is too much for my body, it doesn't really absorb it, I feel that I'm not really hungry, I clearly understand the emotional side of it and can in parallel address the root cause of it via different techniques I discovered via this new eat lifestyle as well.

So if you are like me having issues, with emotional eating, to get out of the vicious circle, are desperately looking for a solution, try to eat at those moments whole food fruits or vegetables that you like the most, and as much as you want. It might be like for me a nice step in a good direction to getting out of the vicious circle!

Great book from Tobias Leenaert if you want to work for a better world!

At some point in my life I was looking for more meaning and purpose, wondering how can I do my part for a better world.

Like I explained here, I took some concrete actions to at least be the change I would like to see in the world.

There was nevertheless always that feeling that there is more I have to do with it. In this search, the pragmatic approach is not always the one that comes first to my mind, well up to coming in contact with Tobias, it never even came to my mind.

I love all the living creatures on this earth and after having read his book, I'm even more affirmative about that.

Tobias provide a lot of experience in this book, what worked, what didn't and all explained by facts through history.

There are some real concrete guidelines as well as actions for all readers, anywhere you are on your journey.

There is vegan in the title, so yes the first target audience are the ones knowing what vegan is.

This said, I found it a truly inspiring, positive oriented book and would recommend it to everyone that is in some way or another, wanting to work at a better world for all living creatures!

You can buy it here; https://lanternbooks.presswarehouse.com/books/BookDetail.aspx?productID=516340

Relax, enjoy life and eat food that makes me feel good!

Since changing my food habitudes towards food that makes me overall feel good, I take a slightly different view on the world in all his aspects.

As a kid, I’ve always been passionate by the fact that people were inventing and creating things in order to make life more efficient, going faster and with less effort. Thru the eyes of a kid, it looked great to me.

Today I’m not so sure about that greatness anymore?
Is all that really helping me, and if so, in what matter?

If we take the example of the car, yes with the car I can go faster and potentially do more things in a day. (probably good question to ask is what things do I want to do in a day?)
Now if the car made things so much better and efficient for everybody, why don't I see so many people very cool, present behind the steer, being very kind towards each other enjoying the ride? Why do I see with that great invention, rather people driving over other living creatures walking, running or cycling on that same road? It looks like the car didn't really made things better and more efficient, did it? Or is it the driver that is reaching his limits? Ok, I get it, and we make, new inventions in order to make that go away, right?
I can't believe I have believed in such a direction before…

The point I want to get to, is that great inventions have been made, that make live certainly way more efficient and easier than it was before.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not at all against them. It's just that originally they were designed to make my life better and that’s therefore I should use them in my opinion.
So if they don’t do that, I should probably re question myself on how I use them and get them again on the right purpose for me. I strongly believe that, that direction is much more fruitful than blaming the outside world, waiting for that new anti stress invention to appear, staying stressful behind the steer and potentially bring other living creatures in danger.

The day I realized I don't have to wait for outside inventions, that I've everything in me, that I create my own stress, behaviour, it became all about relaxing and seeing what really matters in life!

Enjoying the ride, being a compassionate human being and using everything that can help with that!

Why I’m blogging!

Like I explained in previous posts, for myself, the majority of things that I have found via my changed food lifestyle, have been a great discovery for me. I completely understand, that of course, everybody is on their own journey, now quite often for me, there was the thought, that there is more I have to do with this. I cannot just keep that for myself.

One of the main things I was always thinking about is, this is so great, it solves so much of my problems, I've to do more to spread this message and why hasn't it been done before…

Well, when I searched around, it looks like it has, like showed in the great books I have read on the subject and that can be found here. Some of them are from 1963, others even since 1953 and some of the great people in history from even before, did some great quotes in that direction as well.

When I then see today very good initiatives like restaurants or shops with no animal products, local, fair-trade and all natural products, I presume they cannot fail. The reality is that they quite often have very difficult time to survive. I personally presume that it’s just a matter of time, seen the massive advocacy that is done on this subject in all his aspects as well as a lot of strange diseases and unnatural behavior that we start to see, which I at least cannot accept anymore and I presume more and more people will not accept that anymore for themselves.

From my side, for the moment I just don’t see concretely today how I could do more, I'm searching, exploring, have my eyes open for it, suggestions are more than welcome… so for now I decided that I have to at least share my so positive experience and make it available for everybody via this blog. I'm not at all a writer, now it felt so right to do, that I started the blog and maybe it can help other people on their journey as well just like the info helped me!

For now, my motto is mainly; "just being myself and be the change I want to see in the world in all aspects" (quote, Mahatma Gandhi).
